PRESCRIPTION UPDATE

Running out of medication? Please ensure you order your medication in plenty of time, it is YOUR responsibility to order in a timely manner, our reception team are not trained to deal with prescription queries or issue any medication.
Prescription problems (not ordering) will be sent to our prescription team who will contact you within 3 working days of receiving your request
Once a prescription has been issued and sent to a pharmacy it is no longer our responsibility to chase it, get it issued or look for lost ones.
Acute medications are ones issued during your appointment and will be sent by the clinician straight to the pharmacy of your choice and should be ready for collection on the same day (if in stock)
Repeat medications take up to 3 days for us to send to the pharmacy. Then the pharmacy require another 4 days to prepare your medication
We have multiple options for ordering repeat prescriptions:
• Using the NHS App
• In person – the note should be posted into the box on the wall in the reception area, not handed in to the reception staff – spare forms are located on the reception desk for you to complete and drop into the box at the entrance.
• Online prescription request services – such as Systmonline, Airmid and other pharmacy apps available to use.
Our prescription phone line is open MON-FRI – 10:00-11:30 & 14:30-16:00 this is strictly for housebound patients and prescription problems, not for ordering repeat prescriptions.
To read more information on this please visit our website.
Please note, that by coming to the front desk this will not escalate prescriptions being issued urgently.
The UK has been experiencing drug shortages since both leaving the EU and the pandemic and in most cases alternatives can be offered, but the pharmacy must let you know which alternatives they can get hold of for the doctor to choose from.
Sometimes there is no alternative and this is completely out of our control.
